Welcome to 64 Ord Court.

Our first impression of this home from the outside was one of idyllic privacy. It’s located on a cul-de-sac at the end of a street that is rarely used by anyone other than those who live there or are visiting. While the area is remarkably quiet, with the exception of the flock of wild parrots that fly in the neighborhood, it’s also incredibly convenient to all the amenities one comes to expect in a city home. We also took note that the home is completely detached with windows on all four sides, and a driveway along the side of the home allowing for additional parking, certainly a rarity in the middle of the city.

Once we walked through the front door, we immediately could tell this house was loved and held a lot of memories. The home, built shortly after the turn of the 20th century, has been in the same family the entire time. After perusing the rooms, we were impressed that a house, with such a modest footprint, actually had a very functional layout with no wasted space and even supplied three “real” bedrooms and a separate dining room. Once we stepped out onto the deck, located off the kitchen, we had a view of the impressively large backyard that spanned to neighboring States Street. The yard was filled with mature plants such as; roses, daisies, hydrangea, maple trees, bamboo, apple trees, huge succulents, and an impressively fragrant Meyer lemon tree, making this space feel like a private park instead of a yard.

The spacious garage area is prepared to receive one car, and the rest set aside for storage and the laundry. We immediately imagined that this area could serve as future living space, especially since windows on all sides would allow for natural light and access to the outdoors.  

Our lasting impression of 64 Ord Court, while charming as-is, is also full of possibilities for the new owners of this charming home.
